Our need to sell my Uncle’s property was driven by his sudden need to go into residential care and the requirement for funds to cover that care. Having not lived in the area where the property was located, this was a daunting task. Adding to the difficulty was the fact that the only access was via a neighbour’s property, and that the neighbour did not want to continue the arrangement with any new owners. We had listed the property with another agent for 6 months and got no interest at all - nothing. Brian McMahon contacted me and advised that McMahon Real Estate had some particular skills that they could apply to ‘difficult’ properties. After discussing further, we felt it was worth ‘giving them a go’. The level of service we received was extraordinarily good! They conducted a large amount of research to build a picture of the market for blocks similar to my Uncle’s, and then carefully explained where the felt the market ‘was at’ and what strategy we should use to obtain a sale. Everything that Brian said just made sense. Once the property was listed, Rosanne McMahon set to work in a terrier-like manner. She was extremely communicative, and made many enquiries with the council, main roads and other government departments, to ensure we had as much information as possible about the access issues, and what alternatives a future buyer may have. Getting information out of these bodies is sometimes a very long drawn out process - however she just kept following them up until she got a result. She kept me well informed, and was extremely involved with each of the potential buyers as well. In the end, we received multiple offers after only 2 months of being on the market. Now that the property is sold, we can focus on ensuring my dear Uncle receives the best care available in his twilight years.
